Webinar: successfully externalising a service

21 July 2015

Tuesday, 21 July from 12-1pm

RISE CIC is a public service mutual created by 130 staff from the former London Probation Trust. Having launched in February 2015, it designs and delivers effective rehabilitation for people with complex needs. RISE CIC is currently commissioned to provide services with an annual value of £7.3 million in London as part of the government’s Transforming Rehabilitation programme.

As an employee-led mutual, RISE CIC is one example of the larger externalisation that is taking place in public services. The organisation pioneered externalisation in probation having become the first staff-led mutual in probation services and is now one of the largest public sector mutuals in the UK.

RedQuadrant and Browne Jacobson supported RISE CIC in their journey from a public to employee-led service.

Drawing on this experience of externalising a public service, we invite you to attend our free webinar on Tuesday 21st July at 12.00pm. This webinar will share the stage by stage journey taken by RISE CIC to externalise from a public service into a successful mutual. The topics will include:

• negotiations to gain funding;
• people engagement; and
• legal issues

The webinar will be co-hosted by Dennis Vergne (Managing Partner, RedQuadrant), Kuljit Sandhu (Managing Director, RISE CIC), Peter Ware (Head of Government and Infrastructure, Browne Jacobson) and Frank Curran (Public Sector Spin-out Lead, RedQuadrant)

Who should be there? Colleagues from public sector organisations who are interested in learning about public service externalisation especially in the mutual context.

Why should you be there? This is a great opportunity to learn about the practical transition journey taken by a large employee-led mutual in externalising from the probation service.

What will I learn? The webinar will share some key insights on the challenges faced in this journey and some of the lessons learned.

If you would like to join this webinar, please register on Eventbrite by Monday 20th July at 14.00pm.
Once registered joining instructions and details will be sent to you by email.
